No cages, no car rides. One-on-one grooming at your Midway Hollow or Walnut Hill door. Big coats, bad weeks, and no judgment: we deal with matting every single day and we would rather see it now than in a month.
We had a great experience with Poochies. They were quick to respond to our request for info, and answered all our questions in a timely/professional manner. We have (2) 10 yr old black labs that were shedding so much, daily sweeping was needed even though we brushed them daily! Alie did a great job on their "haircut" and dental cleaning. One of our dogs has some anxiety around new people, but Alie was so patient and helped Astro be more at ease. We will definitely use them again.
We had our first appointment with Nate today and had the BEST experience. Making the appointment was easy & organized. Nate communicated his timing prior to the appointment and I was so appreciative. Kai, our 8 year old Siberian husky looked great and was still interested in loving on Nate when she was done, which made me feel so relieved! We will definitely book with him again!
Erika T. · Google reviewMary is WONDERFUL! So quick and made my baby look so good! She is very gentle and my baby came back so happy after spending time with her! Grooming can be stressful for my little guy and he came back so refreshed and not stressed at all! Thank you Mary!
Destiny S. · Google reviewNoelle just finished bathing & cutting my boy- he's just a rescue from Operation Kindness- not a fancy breed- but he looks wonderful! And Noelle is the sweetest! I would highly recommend you- thanks for making this a great experience
Michelle W. · Google reviewNobody plans to let a coat get away from them. Life gets loud, six weeks becomes eleven, and one day the comb stops going through. Northwest Dallas has the coats where that happens fastest: goldens, huskies, shepherds and shedding labs all over the blocks off Midway Road and Walnut Hill Lane, plus every double coat that came home from Bachman Lake wet. Our groomers de-mat more of those coats in a week than most shops see in a month, and the conversation is always the same one: here is what the coat can take, here is what it can’t, and here is what we’re going to do. What we’ll not do is shave a double coat to save time, or make you feel bad on your own driveway.
Wash, blow-out, nails, ears, and a finishing spritz, in the van, in your driveway. Sized and priced by coat type, quoted up front.
Bath package plus the haircut: breed-standard or your call. Matting-safe for doodles, de-shed for double coats, always one-on-one.
Quiet van, no kennels, no car ride, the calm setup anxious cats and senior dogs actually tolerate. Gentle handling, extra breaks.

Our Northwest Dallas routes cover Midway Hollow and Walnut Hill Lane through Bachman Lake, Marsh Lane and Webb Chapel, with Preston Hollow, Bluffview and Farmers Branch on adjoining routes. Not sure you're inside the line? Put your address in the booking form and it answers instantly.
Zip codes we serve in Northwest Dallas: 75229, 75220.
The pictures attached are from my dog's first grooming appointment and he got a second one today. Nathan has groomed my Auggie both times and he is so sweet and patient. They are punctual which I love. I love how they update with ETA and when the grooming is about to be finished. Nathan listens to what I want and don't want in a haircut and is on point when he returns my dog. I highly recommend Poochies!
No. Matting is normal and it’s most of what we do here. Your groomer will show you where the coat is pelted, tell you honestly whether it can be brushed out or needs to come shorter, and then do whichever one hurts the dog less.
No. Shaving a double coat wrecks the insulation that keeps the dog cooler, and it often grows back wrong. We do a full de-shed instead, which removes the dead undercoat and actually drops the heat load.
Baths start at $75 and full grooms start at $130, set by size and coat type. The trip fee in both zips is $15, one of the lowest we charge. Heavy de-matting adds time and is quoted before your groomer starts.
Every four to eight weeks depending on the coat, and tighter through Dallas shedding season. A recurring schedule takes $15 off every visit and keeps the de-shed from ever becoming a de-mat.
Yes, and it’s common on these blocks. Each dog gets its own one-on-one session in the van, back to back, so plan on roughly an hour apiece for large coats.
